EUAM Ukraine expanding its activities to all seven regions in western Ukraine

The Field Office of the EU Advisory Mission (EUAM) Ukraine in Lviv is expanding its activities to all seven regions in western Ukraine, including Zakarpattia region, EUAM Head Antti Hartikainen has said.

He said this at a field session of the Verkhovna Rada committee on Ukraine's integration into the European Union in Zakarpattia region on Thursday, September 16, the press service of Zakarpattia Regional State Administration reported.

"EUAM strives to adapt its work in each region. Integrated border management and combating trans-border crime are especially important for this part of Ukraine. These topics are among EU priorities, as they are closely linked to the safety of the EU and visa-free regime, which Ukrainians enjoy today," Hartikainen said.

According to him, what happens in the regions is crucial for Ukraine's progress.

"The strategic approach to reform depends on effective coordination between Kyiv and the regions," Hartikainen said.
