Rada to vote on Razumkov's removal from office on Oct 7
Ukrainian MPs have supported the proposal to include in the agenda of the sixth session of the Verkhovna Rada the issue of removing Dmytro Razumkov from the post of speaker of the Ukrainian parliament.
Some 246 lawmakers voted for a respective decision that envisages the consideration of the issue of removing Razumkov from office on Thursday, October 7, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
"According to the rules of procedure of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, an issue related to the actual launch of the procedure for removing the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada from office will be included in the agenda," Razumkov said before the issue was considered.
First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk chaired the parliament meeting during the consideration of the respective issue.
Servant of the People MPs at a two-day field meeting in Truskavets on October 2 collected the 150 signatures needed to initiate the removal of Verkhovna Rada Chairman Dmytro Razumkov from office. According to Yuliia Paliichuk, spokeswoman for the Servant of the People faction, some 197 signatures of MPs were collected to remove Razumkov from the post of parliament speaker.
The procedure for removing Razumkov from the post of the Verkhovna Rada chairman was launched on October 4 on the basis of a motion filed by David Arakhamia, head of the parliamentary faction of the Servant of the People.
During a plenary meeting on October 5, MPs suspended Razumkov from holding plenary meetings for two days. Some 240 MPs supported a respective decision.
