Five motions tabled in Rada to appoint new ministers
The Verkhovna Rada has received five motions for the appointment of new ministers to the Ukrainian government.
This was announced on Telegram by Government's Representative to Parliament Taras Melnychuk, Ukrinform reports.
"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has received from the president of Ukraine a motion to appoint Oleksiy Reznikov Minister of Defense of Ukraine," he wrote.
Also, Melnychuk informed of Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal’s motions as regards his picks for the top posts in a number of ministries.
"Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the motions for the appointment of candidates for the positions of members of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine: Yulia Anatoliyivna Svyridenko – to the position of First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Economy of Ukraine; Iryna Andriivna Vereshchuk – to the position of Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine; Pavlo Borysovych Ryabikin – to the position of Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine," Melnychuk wrote.
As Ukrinform reported earlier, the Verkhovna Rada on Wednesday, November 3, dismissed five ministers from Denys Shmyhal’s government.
These include Minister for Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Roman Abramovsky (332 votes), First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy Oleksiy Liubchenko (320 votes), Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Oleksiy Reznikov (329 votes), Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Strategic Industries Oleh Urusky (342 votes), and Minister of Defense Andriy Taran (341 votes).
