G7 ambassadors meet with NABU director
The ambassadors of the Group of Seven countries have discussed with the director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine, Artem Sytnyk, the progress in the fight against corruption in Ukraine.
That is according to the Twitter account of the UK Presidency of the G7 Ambassadors' Support Group in Kyiv, Ukrinform reports.
"G7 Ambassadors met NABU director Sytnyk to discuss NABU's progress in fighting corruption in Ukraine. Ambassadors reiterated their strong commitment to supporting the independence of NABU and Ukraine's other anti-corruption institutions," the tweet said.
The ambassadors underscored that the selection process for a new director must be transparent, competitive, and carried out with sufficient urgency to ensure no gap between directors.
"The delay in selecting a new Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor should not be repeated," the tweet added.
G7 ambassadors on October 20 welcomed the adoption by the Ukrainian parliament of law No.5459-1 "On the Introduction of Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Concerning Bringing the Status of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine into Compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine."
