Ukraine seeks to remain reliable gas transit state - Shmyhal

Ukraine seeks to promote energy security and remain a reliable transit country to ship gas to Europe.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal made the relevant statement via Twitter following talks with Vice President of the European Commission, Maros Sefcovic, Ukrinform reports.

"The main directions of the strategic partnership in the field of energy and raw materials were discussed with Vice President of the European Commission Maros Sefcovic. Ukraine seeks to strengthen cooperation, remain a reliable gas transit country, and contribute to energy security in Europe," Shmyhal wrote.

As reported earlier, on November 29-30, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal is paying a working visit to Brussels, Belgium. Other heads of government of the Association Trio are now in Brussels as well. Prime Minister Shmyhal is scheduled to make joint statements to the media on Tuesday as part of the visit together with Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili and Moldova’s PM Natalia Gavrilita.
