Biden to hold talks with Zelensky after Putin call – Kuleba
U.S. President Joe Biden will hold talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after a video call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
According to Ukrinform, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this on the Freedom of Speech program on the ICTV channel.
"It was planned that Blinken would call [Zelensky] before the [Biden-Putin] call and that the [U.S. and Ukrainian] presidents would talk after the call," he said.
Kuleba added that U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's call with President Zelensky is a continuation of Ukraine's logic with partners "that any agreement on Ukraine is not worked out or adopted without Ukraine."
"That is why today [on December 6] the President spoke with the Secretary of State. […] After Biden's conversation with Putin, we will also learn what they were talking about. That is, there will be contacts at high and top levels," he said.
Kuleba noted that this year Ukraine and the United States have established a very open, dynamic and trusting dialogue.
President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on December 6 coordinated their positions ahead of a video meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Biden will hold a video call with Putin on December 7. Both leaders plan to discuss U.S. concerns about Russia's military build-up along Ukraine's borders and other topics. They will also talk about bilateral relations and the implementation of agreements reached at their June summit in Geneva, the Kremlin said.
