Macron to talk to Zelensky and Putin - Elysee Palace

French President Emmanuel Macron plans to hold a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Volodymyr Putin in the coming days, according to BFM TV.

The Elysee Palace said the purpose of the phone call would be to focus on "de-escalation in the region," the report said.

It says that U.S. President Joe Biden yesterday briefed key European allies, including Macron, on the results of his video call with Putin.

Biden's virtual meeting with Putin took place on December 7. President Biden voiced the concerns of the United States and the entire Western world about Russia's military activity around Ukraine.

Biden intends to call Zelensky on Thursday, December 9, to discuss the results of his talks with Putin.
