Putin, Biden to hold another round of talks

U.S. President Joe Biden and President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, have agreed to hold another summit.

That’s according to Reuters, Ukrinform reports.

The Kremlin said on December 12 that the two leaders had agreed during a long-awaited call last week amid rising tensions around Ukraine to hold additional discussions on the pressing issues.

"(We will) definitely see each other, I would really want that to happen," Putin told Biden, according to a video released by Rossiya 1 TV.

The Kremlin, however, said it was too early to say when the two presidents would be able to meet in person.

They are tentatively set to meet after their relevant administration officials talk.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on Tuesday, December 7, the presidents of the United States and Russia had a video call. During two-hour talks, the two discussed security issues, including the amassing of Russian troops around Ukraine's borders.

According to the White House, U.S. President Joe Biden reaffirmed his support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, and called for de-escalation and a return to diplomacy.
