Zelensky, Sanchez discuss Ukraine's steps towards European integration
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has met with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to brief him on the steps Ukraine is making on its road to European integration.
According to Ukrinform, Zelensky wrote this on Twitter.
"In a meeting with Pedro Sanchez, I informed him about the latest steps taken by Ukraine on its path to European integration. I expect Spain to support Ukraine's European perspective at the bilateral level. We discussed further cooperation in promising areas of bilateral cooperation," the tweet reads.
According to the president's press service, Zelensky said he had high expectations for the intensification of bilateral cooperation in the near future, including in view of the Spanish prime minister's planned visit to Ukraine in 2022.
"I am pleased to note that Spain is one of Ukraine's main trading partners in Europe," Zelensky said.
Both parties discussed further cooperation in promising areas of bilateral cooperation, including in the fields of energy, food processing and the development of infrastructure projects.
