Zelensky greets Fiala on his appointment as Czech PM

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Petr Fiala on his appointment as prime minister of the Czech Republic.

According to Ukrinform, the head of state wrote this in a post on Twitter.

"I sincerely congratulate Petr Fiala on his appointment as Prime Minister of the Czech Republic and wish success to the new Czech government. We look forward to fruitful Ukrainian-Czech cooperation and an ambitious agenda of the Czech Republic's presidency in the Council of the EU in 2022. We are ready to jointly counter threats facing our countries and the world," the tweet reads.

Czech President Milos Zeman on December 17 appointed members of the new government headed by Prime Minister Petr Fiala.

For his part, Fiala said that his team wants to work "in a somewhat different manner than our predecessors."
