President enacts Ukraine’s Information Security Strategy
Volodymyr Zelensky has enforced the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of October 15, 2021, "On the Information Security Strategy."
The relevant decree (No.685/2021) was published on the president’s website, Ukrinform reports.
"In accordance with Article 107 of the Constitution of Ukraine, Article 13 of Law of Ukraine ‘On National Security of Ukraine’ I decide to put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of October 15, 2021, ‘On Information Security Strategy’ (attached). The Information Security Strategy (attached) shall be approved,” the decree reads.
At the same time, Art. 2 of the Decree of the President of Ukraine of February 25, 2017, No.47 "On the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine of December 29, 2016, “On the Doctrine of Information Security of Ukraine” has been declared invalid
The decree comes into force from the date of its publication.
The document states that Russia’s information policy poses a threat not only to Ukraine: "Special information operations run by the Russian Federation target key democratic institutions (including elections), while special services of the aggressor power are trying to intensify internal conflicts in Ukraine and other democracies.”
As Ukrinform reported earlier, on October 15, the National Security and Defense Council heard and adopted the Information Security Strategy of Ukraine.
