Dzheppar: If Russia attacks, Ukraine will respond clearly
If Russia's attack happens, Ukraine will respond clearly, in every single way.
First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzheppar said this in an interview with ITV News, news editor Emma Burrows posted on Twitter.
“We are not the country of 2014. The Ukrainian army is drastically different. It's not only about a military response, it's about confidence. If an attack happens, we will respond clearly, in every single way,” Dzheppar said.
As the official noted, Ukraine regards the United States as its reliable partner.
“We have to be very clear telling Russia what it should expect if it attacks Ukraine once more: a diplomatic, economic and security response. The main idea of Russian policy is to remain in control of former Soviet countries. But the Cold War is over,” the first deputy foreign minister stressed.
As reported, U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman said that after meeting with Russian counterparts in Geneva, she could not say whether Russia was ready to de-escalate tensions near Ukraine's borders.
