Ukrainian MPs start friendly visit to Turkey
Official visit of representatives of the Verkhovna Rada Group on Interparliamentary Relations with the Republic of Turkey has kicked off.
The visit of the friendship group began with a flower-laying ceremony at the Ataturk Mausoleum in Ankara, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize the restoration of Ukraine’s independence, it does not recognize the illegal occupation of Crimea and Donbas, continues to support the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country at all international platforms and levels, including parliamentary… Ukraine–Turkey strategic partnership gives concrete results in various spheres – from the defense industry to scientific and technical and from trade and economic to cultural and humanitarian, strengthens our countries," head of the Ukrainian delegation, MP Rustem Umerov wrote in the book of the Anıtkabir honorary visitors.
The Ukrainian delegation will visit Ankara and Istanbul.
Today, a meeting with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) of Turkey Mustafa Şentop, co-Chair of Ukraine-Turkey Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Tuğrul Türkeş, Head of the Turkish parliamentary delegation to PACE Ahmet Yildiz, and Head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Turkey Akif Kılıç will take place in Ankara.
The Ukrainian delegation is headed by Rustem Umerov, co-chair of the Verkhovna Rada Group on Interparliamentary Relations with the Republic of Turkey.
The delegation includes Ukrainian MPs: leader of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev, Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Refat Chubarov, Roman Hryshchuk, Akhtem Chiygoz, Oleksandra Ustinova, Ihor Kopytin, Mykola Knyazhytsky, Oleksandr Kovalyov, Roman Kostenko, Serhiy Mandziy, Serhiy Shvets.
