Biden meets with senators upon their return from Ukraine - White House
U.S. President Joe Biden met virtually with a bipartisan group of senators who have just returned from Kyiv to discuss Russia's military build-up on Ukraine's borders and the most effective steps in support of Ukraine.
That's according to a statement released by the White House on Wednesday, January 19, Ukrinform reports.
"President Biden and the senators exchanged views on the best ways the United States can continue to work closely with our allies and partners in support of Ukraine, including both ongoing diplomacy to try to resolve the current crisis and deterrence measures," the White House said.
According to the statement, President Biden "agreed to keep working closely with Congress" as the U.S. administration prepares to impose significant consequences in response to further Russian aggression against Ukraine.
A bipartisan group of U.S. senators visited Kyiv this week to meet with the Ukrainian leadership.
