Ukraine disappointed about Germany's decision to support Nord Stream 2 - Klitschko
Ukraine is disappointed that the German federal government supports the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko has said.
According to Ukrinform, he wrote about this on Facebook.
"Friends! I said in a comment to the German newspaper Bild that Ukraine is disappointed that the German federal government supports Nord Stream 2. In addition, it opposes the supply of defensive weapons to Ukraine and attempts to block its supply, for example, by Estonia, which is ready to do so," Klitschko said.
According to him, such refusal to provide assistance looks like a betrayal of friends in a dramatic situation for Ukraine - when Russian troops threaten Ukraine along its borders. Klitschko noted that Ukraine needs weapons to defend itself, rather than attack someone.
"So the question arises: on whose side is the German government today? On the side of freedom, which means on the side of Ukraine? Or on the side of the aggressor? And I am convinced that we need a clear signal from the most powerful country in Europe," Klitschko said.
