Stefanchuk, European Parliament delegation discuss counteraction to Nord Stream 2
Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk has discussed with a delegation of the European Parliament the issues of counteracting the Nord Stream 2 project.
The Ukrainian speaker wrote this on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.
"I am glad to see the delegation of European Parliament representatives within the walls of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. This meeting is very timely. I appreciate the European Union’s support of Ukraine, which helps curb the appetites of the Russian Federation,” the Verkhovna Rada chairman wrote.
The parties also discussed issues of cybersecurity and energy crisis.
"When there is economic interest on one of the scales and security and peace in Europe on the other, the right decision must be taken,” Stefanchuk said.
He also thanked the EU and the European Parliament for their support of the Crimean Platform and for their willingness to participate in the work of the platform in order to strengthen the policy of non-recognition of the temporary occupation of Crimea.
As Ukrinform reported, on February 1, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with a delegation of the European Parliament to discuss economic, energy and security issues.
