Zelensky thanks Erdogan for supporting Crimean Tatars
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has thanked his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan for supporting the sovereignty and integrity of Ukraine and for active participation in the Crimea Platform.
According to an Ukrinform correspondent, Zelensky said this at a briefing after his meeting with Erdogan in Kyiv on Thursday, February 3.
"I thank Mr. President for his firm and consistent support of our sovereignty, our territorial integrity, for active participation in the Crimea Platform for the sake of the liberation of Crimea and the protection of the rights of residents of Crimea. We are talking about the support of the Crimean Tatars and the construction of housing for IDPs from Crimea. There is indeed progress in this matter. We are sure that there will soon be a result -- the implementation of this important project in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Kyiv," he said.
Zelensky also thanked Erdogan for the initiative to become a mediator between Ukraine and Russia on the way to ending the war in eastern Ukraine.
"For peace in Ukraine, we are ready to do everything we can on all platforms and in all formats. It doesn't matter where we could end the war. It's important that everyone is sincerely ready for this," Zelensky said.
