Blinken tells Kuleba consequences for Russia will be swift and severe - State Department
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirmed in a phone call with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba on Friday, February 11, that the United States had agreed with its allies and partners on the consequences for Russia in the event of its further aggression against Ukraine.
The U.S. State Department said this in a statement following the call between the U.S. and Ukrainian diplomats, Ukrinform reports.
"The Secretary underscored that any and all aggression against Ukraine by Russia will be met with swift, severe, and united consequences," the statement said.
In addition, Blinken briefed on global efforts to urge de-escalation and enhance defense and deterrence measures against Russia's unprovoked and continued build-up of troops and equipment in Ukraine and around its borders. He also reaffirmed the United States' "enduring and steadfast" support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
