Swiss embassy in Kyiv continues to operate as usual

The Swiss Embassy in Ukraine continues to operate as usual, State Secretary of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation, Livia Leu said during a video conference with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi.

According to the Ukrainian MFA’s website, the two officials discussed the current security situation around Ukraine and in the temporarily occupied territories.

In particular, Tochytskyi stressed that Ukraine is committed to an exclusively peaceful and diplomatic settlement of the Russian-Ukrainian armed conflict.

The State Secretary of the Swiss Foreign Ministry confirmed that Switzerland would continue to make every effort to promote the de-escalation of military tensions near the Ukrainian border.

“The Swiss Embassy in Ukraine continues to work as usual,” she said.

Tochytskyi thanked for the significant Swiss humanitarian aid to Ukraine, as well as for the continuous work of the Swiss observers from the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission in the country.

In addition, the parties paid attention to the preparations for the Conference on Reforms in Ukraine to be held in July in Lugano, Switzerland, as an event aimed at promoting systemic transformations in Ukraine.
