President of NATO PA urges crippling, sustained sanctions against Russia

President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Gerry Connolly has called on the allies to decisively condemn Russia's recognition of the self-proclaimed entities in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.

Ukrinform reports this with reference to a post on the Twitter account of the PA NATO.

“Opening day 2 of NATO PA annual meeting in Brussels, President Gerry Connolly strongly condemns Russia’s recognition of DLNR, urges ‘crippling and sustained sanctions’. He warns ‘no one should be fooled by euphemisms. These are Russia’s military units occupying Ukraine’s sovereign territory,” the report says.

As Ukrinform reported, on February 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees to "recognize" two illegal entities in the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine.
