Hungary not to allow lethal weapons for Ukraine to transit its territory – FM
Hungary will not allow lethal weapons for Ukraine to transit its territory.
According to Reuters, the relevant statement was made by Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The reason for making this decision is that such deliveries might become targets of hostile military action and ... we have to ensure the security of Hungary ... that we are not getting involved in that war,” Szijjarto said.
He also mentioned that Hungary would send neither troops nor weapons to Ukraine.
Earlier, the Government of Hungary transferred the first batch of humanitarian aid for Zakarpattia Region, consisting of 100 tonnes of fuel and 23 tonnes of food products.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war.
