Zelensky: Russian missiles can’t be downed by shotguns some try to send instead of useful supplies
President Volodymyr Zelensky is convinced that, if Ukraine is not provided with advanced weaponry, it will be a moral defeat and destroy prestige of Western leaders.
The president stated this in a video address to the nation, released on Friday, March 18, Ukrinform reports.
"Undoubtedly, we will continue to do all we can. We should remind some Western leaders even louder that this will be a moral defeat for them, it will destroy their prestige if Ukraine does not receive advanced weapons that will really save the lives of thousands of our people. Russian missiles will not be downed by shotguns, with which some are trying to replace really useful supplies," said Zelenesky.
He noted that Russian troops continued the vile shelling of Ukrainian peaceful cities and communities, dropping missiles, bombs, and Grad rockets.
"We are shooting down Russian missiles as hard as we can. We are destroying their warplanes and helicopters. And this is despite the fact that we don’t yet have adequate anti-missile weaponry. Advanced weapons. We have not enough combat aircraft. But we have a goal, pure and fair – to protect our people, our state," the president stressed.
