Trudeau meets with members of Ukrainian parliament

Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau have held a meeting with members of the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation in Ottawa.

The Canadian prime minister wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"I sat down with Parliamentarians from Ukraine today. They shared stories about the war back home, and spoke about the support they need from Canada and the world," Trudeau wrote.

He stressed "their resiliency, and the strength of the Ukrainian people, is inspiring – and we’ll continue to be there for them."

Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland also participated in the meeting.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the beginning of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops have been shelling and destroying key infrastructure facilities, conducting massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and villages using artillery, multiple rocket launchers and ballistic missiles.

Martial law was imposed in Ukraine and general mobilization was announced.
