PACE President pays his first visit to Ukraine
Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) President Tiny Kox has paid his first visit to Ukraine.
The relevant statement was made by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Ruslan Stefanchuk on Facebook, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“I congratulate PACE President Tiny Kox on his first visit to Ukraine. We have met in Lviv to discuss the consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine and the best ways for the Council of Europe to support Ukraine,” Stefanchuk wrote.
Stefanchuk suggested that the PACE organize a mission to establish and collect the facts of the crimes committed by the Russian Federation in Ukraine for international courts. He expressed hope for PACE’s help in bringing the aggressor to justice.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine also expects a continuous assessment of the human rights situation within the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
A reminder that, on February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin initiated a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, starting a war. Russian troops are shelling and destroying the key infrastructure facilities, launching missile and air strikes on residential areas in Ukrainian cities and villages, torturing and murdering civilians.
