Shmyhal thanks Freeland for Canada's support to Ukraine

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has held a meeting with Canada's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland in the United States, during which he thanked the Canadian people for their great and warm support.

According to Ukrinform, Shmyhal reported this on Telegram.

"In the United States, I met with a true friend of Ukraine, Chrystia Freeland. We discussed with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance of Canada the support for our state and the Ukrainian people in their fight against the Russian invader," Shmyhal wrote.

According to him, Canada was the first country to transfer CAD 1 billion to the IMF's special administrative account, which was created to help Ukraine. "I personally thanked them for that. We feel extremely great and warm support from all the Canadian people," Shmyhal said.

Shmyhal is on a working visit to Washington on April 21-22.
