Austin, Reznikov discuss situation on battlefield

In a phone call, U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov discussed the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine’s capability needs.

The relevant statement was made by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Twitter, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“I spoke again today to Oleksii Reznikov to discuss the situation on the battlefield and Ukraine’s capability needs,” Austin wrote.

The Pentagon chief briefed Reznikov on his call with Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu on May 13, 2022, and reiterated the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and security.

A reminder that U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov also spoke on phone on May 10, 2022 and May 13, 2022.
