Zelensky wants to extend martial law in Ukraine
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has submitted to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine a bill on extending martial law.
This was reported by Ukrinform, citing the parliament's website.
According to the report, the bill was registered on May 18, 2022.
The text of the bill and a memo to it are yet to be published.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the launch of a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Martial law was imposed in Ukraine on the same day. It was to last until March 26. Subsequently, it was extended for another 30 days, until April 25.
On April 19, President Volodymyr Zelensky registered in the Verkhovna Rada Bill No. 7300 to extend martial law in Ukraine.
On April 21, 2022, the Verkhovna Rada extended martial law until May 25.
