Simplifying seizure of Russian oligarchs’ assets: President’s Office drafting mechanism

The Sanctions Group at the President's Office will soon present a document regarding individual sanctions against Russian nationals, supplemented with an appropriate action mechanism.

This was announced by the head of the President’s Office, Andriy Yermak, on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.

"The EU's initiative to facilitate the seizure of assets of sanctioned Russian oligarchs and their redistribution is a very right thing for Ukraine. The McFaul-Yermak Group will soon present our third document, which will deal with individual sanctions with an appropriate action mechanism," Yermak said.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on March 29, President Volodymyr Zelensky said an expert group was being set up at the President’s Office to analyze the impact of sanctions on the Russian Federation.

The group is led by the head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, and chief of the Freeman-Spogley Institute for International Studies (FSI), Ambassador Michael McFaul, the U.S. President's National Security Advisor.

On April 20, an international expert group presented an Action Plan to increase sanctions pressure on the Russian Federation, and on May 10, a Roadmap for energy sanctions, which contains recommendations for imposing restrictions on Russia, was released.
