Luxembourg PM assures Ukraine of support
Luxembourg will stand with Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression and when Ukraine will be rebuilt.
Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel said this at a briefing with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kyiv on Tuesday, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.
He noted that supporting the European Commission's opinion on granting Ukraine EU candidate status would be a strong signal for both Ukraine and Europe.
"This is not only a consequence of the war against Ukraine, it is the protection of our values, for which so many people have already died," Bettel said.
He also noted that the most important thing is to provide lethal weapons to Ukraine, because victory depends on them, adding that Luxembourg had already received a large number of Ukrainian children and adolescents.
Bettel said he was convinced that Ukraine must be supported in order to protect human rights.
The Prime Minister of Luxembourg is on a working visit to Kyiv. He visited Borodianka, Bucha and Irpin.
