"Sovereign and Democratic": UK, U.S. Ambassadors congratulate Ukraine on Constitution Day
In the last four months, Ukrainians have proven that Ukraine is a sovereign, independent, democratic state as defined by its Constitution.
The U.S. Embassy in Ukraine stated this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"Article 1 of Ukraine’s Constitution: “Ukraine shall be a sovereign, independent, democratic, social state governed by the rule of law.” In the past four months, Ukrainians have proved this like never before. We stand with Ukraine and commend your courage and resilience,” reads the tweet of US’ diplomatic mission.

UK Ambassador Melinda Simmons also congratulated Ukraine via Twitter.
“Today is Constitution Day in Ukraine. It describes Ukraine as a sovereign, independent, democratic, social state governed by the rule of law. People talk passionately about the constitution in Kyiv. It defines their country. Now Ukraine fights to the death to defend it,” wrote Simmons.
As reported earlier, Ukraine celebrates Constitution Day on June 28.
On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Russian troops destroy infrastructure objects and carry out massive shelling of residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns.
The US, the European Union and other countries of the world have applied sanctions against the aggressor country, and the international isolation of which is increasing every day.
