President Zelensky: Russia will end war if all sanctions fully implemented

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky believes Russia will not be able to continue the war against Ukraine if all sanctions, introduced by the world, are fully implemented.

The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the opening of the 26th Annual Economist Government Roundtable, when answering the questions of participants, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

“Everything has a powerful effect when 100% loaded. Thus, all the sanctions introduced and voted for are strengthening the world’s stance against Russia’s aggressive position. But, this is not enough, as some people are looking for business solutions, etc. […] If all the sanctions introduced by the European Union, and all the sanctions introduced separately by the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia and the entire world – if all these sanctions are 100% implemented, without exceptions, I am sure it will not be easy for the world, but it will be very difficult for Russia, and it will end the war,” Zelensky told.

I his words, sanctions are introduced not only because of Ukraine but because of violations of international law and freedom of speech, human rights and principles of democracy.

“They [sanctions – Ed.] need to be intensified, as Russia will not stop at Ukraine. If we do not stop them [Russians – Ed.] in Ukraine, they will not stop and will continue their policy,” Zelensky stressed.

A reminder that, in late May 2022, the European Union introduced the sixth sanctions package against Russia, including a partial ban on Russian crude oil imports delivered by sea.
