Kuleba outlines three components of peace in Europe: weapons for Ukraine, sanctions and tribunal for Russia
In his address to the EU Foreign Affairs Council, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba outlined three ways to restore peace and enhance security in Europe.
“Today, I addressed EU ministers at the Foreign Affairs Council on Josep Borrell’s kind invitation. My key message: weapons to Ukraine, sanctions on Russia, and accountability for Russia are the three ways to restore peace, enhance security, and protect stability in Europe,” Kuleba posted on Twitter.
In the context of weapons, the minister thanked for the extra €500 million under the European Peace Facility and urged additional bilateral military aid.
“Sanctions: energy embargo, price cap on oil, ban on all Russian TV channels. I encourage EU states to support the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression Against Ukraine,” Kuleba added.
Before the start of the Foreign Affairs Council meeting, EU High Representative Borrell said that the EU Foreign Affairs Council could make a political decision to continue supporting Ukraine, in particular by providing it with security assistance, and would consider ways to increase the effectiveness of sanctions against Russia.
