Danilov: 86 people subject to criteria under law on oligarchs
Some 86 people are now subject to the criteria defined by the law "On preventing threats to national security associated with the excessive influence of persons who have significant economic and political weight in public life (oligarchs)."
Secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Oleksiy Danilov said this at a meeting on the state of implementation of the law, Ukrinform reports, with reference to the NSDC's press service.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, First Deputy Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko, Justice Minister Denys Maliuska, Interior Minister Denys Monastyrsky, Head of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Olha Pishchanska, acting Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk and officials of the National Security and Defense Council attended the meeting.
Danilov recalled that the law was put into effect on May 7 and an NSDC decision of June 29 approved the regulations on the register of persons who have significant economic and political weight in public life (oligarchs), the procedure for its formation and maintenance.
According to him, the regulations define the implementation of the organizational principles of the system of preventing the excessive influence of oligarchs and the procedure for applying influence measures to them. The formation and maintenance of the register is ensured by the NSDC.
