Ukraine parliament committee supports Kostin as candidate for prosecutor general

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement Activities has supported a draft resolution submitted by President Volodymyr Zelensky "On granting consent to the appointment of Andriy Kostin by the President of Ukraine to the position of Prosecutor General."

Yuliia Paliichuk, spokeswoman for the Servant of the People faction, said this in a Telegram post, Ukrinform reports.

Early on July 27, Zelensky tabled in the parliament a draft resolution on granting consent to Kostin's appointment as Ukraine's prosecutor general.

Fedir Venislavskyi, the president's representative in the Constitutional Court, was authorized to present the motion at a plenary meeting of the parliament.
