Montenegro's parliament condemns Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine
Montenegro's parliament has condemned Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine and supported the country's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.
"Another strong gesture of highly valued support from Montenegro – Skupstina's Resolution condemned armed aggression of Russia against Ukraine and firmly supported territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine," the tweet reads.
According to the Balkan Observer, 55 members of Montenegro's parliament voted for a respective resolution on the evening of July 30, whereas 18 voted against it, and three abstained.
The document was submitted to the parliament by the Social Democratic Party together with the Democratic Party of Socialists and the Bosnian Party. In the document, Montenegro's parliament strongly condemns an open act of aggression and military intervention carried out by the Russian armed forces against Ukraine as an independent and internationally recognized state. It also calls on the Russian authorities to urgently stop military actions and stop the act of aggression, which directly undermines the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, destroys military and civilian facilities and endangers the lives of millions of people, mostly civilians.
Montenegro's government in early June decided to provide Ukraine with additional aid, including military aid.
