PM Shmyhal meets with Bundestag faction leaders to discuss situation at ZNPP, military needs
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has met with the leaders of Germany’s Bundestag factions.
The relevant statement was made by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on Telegram, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“Ukraine has strong support in the Bundestag. Today I was convinced of this when holding meetings with the leaders of the German Bundestag factions,” Shmyhal wrote.
In particular, with Co-Leader of the Alliance 90/The Greens Ricarda Lang and Leader of the Alliance 90/The Greens in the Bundestag Britta Haßelmann, Shmyhal discussed Ukraine’s European integration, progress in reforms and the situation at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP). With Leader of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and Leader of the CDU/CSU Group in the Bundestag Friedrich Merz, the Prime Minister of Ukraine discussed defense support and the country’s military needs. The interlocutors tackled the economic situation, government assistance programs for small and medium-sized enterprises, and the way Germany could contribute to their financing.
In addition, Shmyhal met with Leader of the Free Democratic Party in the Bundestag Christian Dürr and emphasized the importance of imposing sanctions restrictions on Russia, namely European visa bans for the nationals of the terrorist state. Additionally, they discussed defense and financial support.
“I am grateful to each and every one in the Bundestag, who help Ukraine in this war through their decisive deeds,” Shmyhal stressed.
