Linkevičius explains why Ukraine can’t sit down at negotiating table with Russia now

Today it is not worth sitting down at the negotiating table with Russia because it would offer the latter a chance to freeze the conflict and strengthen its forces.

This is the opinion of one of the leading Ukraine lobbyists in the EU, former Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, reports Ukrinform.

“Kremlin hints about negotiations- it means that gunpowder has run out and they want to freeze occupied territories. In no way should they be allowed to breathe,” Linkevičius tweeted.

“High hopes for increased arms supply especially due to US Lend- lease. Ukraine needs to be cleared of Russia, period,” the former minister concluded.

As reported by the spokesperson for Operational Command South, Natalia Humeniuk, the Ukrainian military has all the necessary means and forces so that the Russian Federation gains no opportunity to increase the number of its troops in the southern regions of Ukraine.
