United States to continue discussion on recognizing Russia as state sponsor of terrorism – Ambassador Brink

The sanctions against the Russian Federation, which have been imposed by the United States, have the same effect as recognizing the country as a state sponsor of terrorism, but the United States will continue to discuss this issue at the internal level.

The relevant statement was made by United States Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget A. Brink in an interview during Ukraine’s nationwide telethon, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.

According to Brink, the United States is implementing numerous measures associated with recognizing the country as a state sponsor of terrorism. For example, the sanctions imposed against the Russian leadership, banks and companies have the same effect, immobilizing Russia’s economy and reducing Russia’s capability to continue this war.

Brink noted the U.S. Department of State does not disclose internal communication on various issues, including such recognition. But, the United States will continue to implement the aforementioned measures and discuss the above issue at the internal level.
