Speaker Pelosi: Russia must feel pain and defeat

Russia must be defeated and held accountable for all the crimes it committed in Ukraine, as well as feel the real pain of punishment.

Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi stated this at a press conference at G7 speakers’ summit in Berlin, Ukrinform reports.

“It (Ukraine – ed.) requires substantial security support, humanitarian assistance, economic assistance and sanctions, sanctions, sanctions, that make sure that Russia feels the pain of this,” she said.

Pelosi stressed that Russia must be held accountable “for the atrocities they are committing against little children, using rape as a weapon of war, hunger as a tool of war, and the rest”. She also praised the actions of Ukraine for documenting Russian crimes against humanity.

“It is clear that this war must be won.  And we thank the people of Ukraine, for their commitment to democracy, for their own country, but the fight they're making is for democracy everywhere,” she said.

As Ukrinform reported, Ukrainian law enforcers have registered 49,901 crimes since the Russian armed aggression started.
