Kuleba calls on world’s parliaments to recognize Holodomor as genocide
Minister for Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba has called on the world’s parliaments to recognize the Holodomor as an act of genocide against the people of Ukraine.
That’s according to the minister’s tweet, seen by Ukrinform.
“I call on parliaments of all nations to support Ukraine by recognizing the Holodomor, Stalin’s 1932-1933 artificial famine, as genocide of the Ukrainian people. We will commemorate its 90 years in November. Recognition is very important now, when Russia commits another genocide,” Kuleba tweeted.
As reported earlier, Kuleba had called on the German Bundestag to recognize the Holomodor as genocide, pointing to the genocidal nature of the war Russia is waging on Ukraine.
The Holodomor of 1932-1933 is an act of genocide of the Ukrainian people, carried out by the leadership of the Soviet Communist Party and government by creating a man-made famine in Ukraine.
The day of remembrance for the victims of the Holomodor is marked annually, on the fourth Saturday of November.
