Ukrainian, Indonesian presidents discuss importance of continuing grain initiative

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a phone call with his Indonesian counterpart Joko Widodo said that Ukraine is ready to continue to be a guarantor of global food security.

Zelensky said this on his Twitter account, Ukrinform reports.

"Had a call with the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. We discussed the importance of continuing the Grain Initiative. Ukraine is ready to continue to be the guarantor of global food security," he said.

According to him, both countries' leaders also paid attention to preparations for the upcoming G20 summit.

On October 29, Russia announced its withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, justifying its decision with an attack on its Black Sea Fleet ship in Sevastopol Bay. Russia blamed Ukraine and the United Kingdom for the attack. Despite Russia's withdrawal from the Black Sea Grain Initiative, grain ships continued to leave Ukrainian ports.
