French, British foreign ministers reaffirm strong support for Ukraine
French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna and British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly at a meeting in Paris emphasized their determination to support Ukraine.
That's according to a joint statement following the November 11 meeting, posted on the website of the French Foreign Ministry, Ukrinform reports.
"They [the ministers] underlined their determination to provide Ukraine with the political, military, humanitarian and economic support it needs to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity and to improve its resilience during the winter period and beyond. They deplored the international effects of Russia's actions and stressed their willingness to mitigate the consequences for the most vulnerable," the statement said.
Both ministers agreed to coordinate their preparation for upcoming international conferences on civil resistance and recovery and reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the fight against impunity.
They also condemned Iran's violent crackdown on legitimate peaceful protests and Iran's support for Russia's illegal war in Ukraine, including through drones used to indiscriminately target civilians and civilian infrastructure.
Colonna and Cleverley pledged to strengthen international cooperation to counter these activities. They reaffirmed their clear determination to ensure that Iran can never acquire nuclear weapons and their deep concern at the insufficient cooperation of this country with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
