Macron congratulates Ukrainians on recapture of Kherson

French President Emmanuel Macron has congratulated Ukrainian citizens on the liberation of Kherson.

Macron wrote this on Twitter, Ukrinform reports.

"I welcome the return of Kherson to Ukraine. This is an important step toward the full restoration of its sovereign rights," he wrote.

Macron added that France would continue to support Ukrainian men and women.

Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate reported on November 11 that Kherson was returning to Ukraine's control, with units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine entering the city and the only chance for the Russian military to avoid death being to surrender immediately.
