Ukraine will decide what to do in terms of talks with Russia - Borrell

Ukraine will be a key topic for discussion at a meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in Brussels today and at the level of defense ministers tomorrow, with the EU adhering to the position that Ukraine will decide itself what to do in terms of negotiations with Russia.

EU High Representative Josep Borrell said this before the meeting of foreign ministers of the EU countries, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"Ukraine will decide what to do. Our duty is to support them," Borrell said, answering questions from reporters regarding proposals to start negotiations between Ukraine and Russia after the retreat of the Russian army from Kherson.

He emphasized that for two days, European government officials will pay attention to the development of the situation in Ukraine and continued support for the country in its fight against the Russian invasion.
