Zelensky, Dombrovskis discuss financial assistance to Ukraine

President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine discussed with the Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, the issue of financial support for Ukraine until the end of 2022 and in 2023, as well as the reconstruction of the war-torn country.

The head of the Ukrainian state delivered the news via Instagram, Ukrinform reports.

"During the meeting with the Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, we discussed the issue of urgent financial support for Ukraine until the end of this year and coordination of plans for 2023," the president said.

He added that separately that the parties discussed the Fast Recovery Plan for housing and social infrastructure facilities and the involvement of the European Commission in the launch of the Ukraine Reconstruction Fund, including by working out the mechanism for utilizing Russian assets frozen on the territory of the EU.

"Thank you for the important steps of financial support of Ukraine on the part of the EU!" noted Zelensky.

As reported, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, is visiting Ukraine on Friday.
