Orban sometimes uses Ukraine in his own game with EU – Kuleba

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban sometimes uses Ukraine in his own game with the European Union, but Ukrainians and Hungarians will remain friends.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said this in an interview with Politico, Ukrinform reports.

According to him, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban "is playing his own game with the European Union — and sometimes uses Ukraine as a hostage of that relationship."

The minister said that Ukrainians do not have any animosity toward Hungarians.

"We were friends, we are friends, and we will be friends. But we need to win this war, and it is in the best interest of Hungary that Ukraine wins," Kuleba said.

Orban has repeatedly expressed his disagreement with the EU's sanctions policy against Russia, stating, in particular, that sanctions cause more damage to the European Union than to Russia.

In addition, Hungary has already blocked twice the inclusion of Patriarch Kirill of the Russian Orthodox Church in the EU's sanctions lists.
