Shmyhal, Nuland discuss energy system restoration, U.S. aid
Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and U.S. Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland discussed the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system, military and financial support from the United States.
"During the meeting with U.S. Under Secretary of State and a friend of Ukraine Victoria Nuland, we discussed the restoration of our energy system, military and financial support from the United States," Shmyhal posted on Telegram.
As the PM noted, Ukraine needs prompt assistance in form of energy equipment supplies to quickly restore damaged facilities.
Shmyhal thanked American partners for an additional $53 million in aid to repair Ukrainian power grids.
"We highly appreciate the support provided by President Biden and the administration, in particular the $37 billion initiative for Ukraine. This will significantly strengthen the resilience of Ukrainians and be an additional driving force for our victory in the war with Russia," the Head of Government added.
As reported, Ukraine received 80 powerful generators from the USA last week which helped stabilize the energy situation.
