Biden assures Zelensky of further support for Ukraine amid Russian aggression

The United States will further provide security, economic and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine as Russia continues its aggression against the country.

This is said in a press release published on the White House’s website following a phone conversation between U.S. President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Biden reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to continue providing Ukraine with security, economic, and humanitarian assistance, holding Russia accountable for its war crimes and atrocities, and imposing costs on Russia for its aggression,” the White House said.

It is noted that Biden welcomed President Zelensky’s stated openness to a just peace based on fundamental principles enshrined in the United Nations Charter.

The White House also added that Biden emphasized that the U.S. is prioritizing efforts to strengthen Ukraine's air defenses.

As reported, late on December 11, U.S. President Joe Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a phone conversation coordinated positions ahead of the upcoming G7 summit.
