Yermak, Sullivan discuss situation on frontline, energy security

Russia seeks to use cold as a weapon of mass destruction, destroying Ukraine's energy system with missiles and kamikaze drones.

Andriy Yermak, head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, said this in a phone call with U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan, Ukrinform reports, referring to the website of the head of state.

As part of the ongoing dialogue, Yermak briefed Sullivan on the current situation at the front and possible actions of the enemy in the coming months.

According to Yermak, it is very important that Ukraine's partners continue to provide effective support in ensuring the defense needs of Ukraine to adequately respond to future challenges.

Yermak also recalled the words of President Volodymyr Zelensky following his meeting with President Joseph Biden in Washington, D.C., on the importance of creating an effective air shield for Ukraine. After all, by destroying Ukraine's energy system with missiles and kamikaze drones, Russia seeks to use cold as a weapon of mass destruction against civilians.

Both parties discussed further coordination in guaranteeing Ukraine's energy security.

Yermak thanked the U.S. side for understanding the situation and willingness to further support Ukraine in its struggle for independence, freedom and democratic values.
