Duda believes that Ukraine meets requirements for joining EU
Ukraine managed to fulfill its obligations regarding EU membership in very difficult conditions and fully meets the requirements for joining the Community.
President of Poland Andrzej Duda made a corresponding statement at a joint press conference with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda in Lviv, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
As Duda noted, the Ukrainian authorities and society demonstrate "exceptional determination" in the matter of EU integration. According to him, despite being in a very difficult situation, Ukraine managed to fulfill its obligations regarding rapprochement with the EU.
"I am sure that Ukraine fully meets the requirements for joining the EU," Duda emphasized.
He added that the leaders and societies of other countries will also do everything possible for Ukraine to become a member of the European Union.
The President of the Republic of Poland noted that the support for Ukraine from the NATO countries is very important, and more security assistance is needed, because Russia will continue waging this war and taking systematic steps to destroy Ukraine, the infrastructure of Ukrainian cities.
"This aggression must be stopped, and that is why NATO should support Ukraine by providing modern military equipment," Duda stressed.
In his opinion, it is important that other Alliance member states join in providing military aid to Ukraine. At the same time, he assured that Poland will do everything possible to provide such assistance to Kyiv.
"We know what the Russian occupier is, we support and will continue to support Ukraine in the future," the Polish leader emphasized.
As reported, President Duda announced in Lviv the transfer of a company of Leopard 2 tanks to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
